Try running the launcher in administrator mode. (Right click on the icon, "Run as Administrator")

Just a reminder, after Setup, when you select "Agree" to verification of owning the game and then click "Finish" on the last screen, you can just close the launcher, then reopen it to patch. You do not need to let it run the time consuming task of verify your files.

If that doesn't work, which there's no reason why it shouldn't (unless it throws an error), you can navigate to you patch directory, copy the "sr_patch8.tre," "strings" folder and "texture" folder and copy that to your "unpatched" installation. Those are the only files that have been patched since the new launcher.

Launcher has been updated to version 1.0.0

Update Notes:
  • Patch Notes:
    • Links in the patch notes will now open in a new browser window.
    • Patches Notes will no longer be cached will stay up to date.
    • Fixed loading animation for patch notes.
    • Added refresh button when hovering over the patch notes.
      • Added a delay when continuously refreshing the patch notes.
    • Removed non-functioning hyper link from logo.
    • Added https to urls.
  • Game Config:
    • Added new "prompt overlay" functionality.
    • Login Server Select:
      • Can no longer change servers while updating.
      • User will now be prompt when switching servers to confirm their selection.
    • Verify Button:
      • Can no longer verify files while updating.
    • Change Directory Button:
      • New button to change the game's installation directory.
      • Can be used to easily patch multiple installs.
      • Users will be prompt if no installation of SWG exists at the chosen directory
    • Setup Button:
      • New button to rerun setup. (Previously "Change Directory")
      • Can no longer run setup while updating.
    • Added Help / Information prompt and button in Window management
      • Includes credits and helpful links.
    • Added Setup Complete (Welcome to SR) prompt
    • Includes useful new player information and link to follow while the user's game downloads.
    • Can only be accessed after completing the Setup.
  • Buttons:
    • Buttons will now open in new browser window.
    • Fixed PayPal link.
    • Added https to some urls.
  • Installation:
    • User can now edit their user.cfg file to disable debugging and other remove/enable other options.
  • Downloading:
    • Fixed download speed showing exponential numbers. Sometimes like to show negative numbers, can't ever win.
  • Renderer:
    • Cleaned up const layout.
  • Server Status:
    • Test will no longer return an incorrect Server Status of "Online" or "Offline." No one knows what Test is doing, it's sentient, please send help.
  • Misc:
    • Updated README.md
    • Updated icons.
    • Merged code with Linux and macOS branch.
    • Bunch more Linux and macOS compatibility stuff. (Best notes 2018)
    • Updated Electron and dependencies to their latest versions. (See package.json and package-lock.json for a terrible time)
    • Deleted options.cfg because I accidentally uploaded it like a nard.
    • Fixed "Uncaught Exception: Reference Alert is not defined" error
    • Fixed "Error: ENOENT no such file or directory mkdir '/dir..'" error (Needs further testing)
      • Simplified directory creation, replacing with mkdirp and added logging
    • Windows launcher exe should now work under Wine for Linux and macOS, I haven't tested it, but I'm feeling frisky.
    • Removed all existing options for mods as they sometimes caused issues and were a waste of space.
    • More stylings than you can shake a stick at.
833 Additions, 253 deletions, 18 commits across 13 files

Linux and macOS are still on version 0.9.9, but have some of the more important features of 1.0.0 already built in.
